You're lucky to get even this
BO CATLETT: (looking at Chili) What I been wondering is where's he been.
RONNIE: Yeah, where've you been? We haven't heard from you lately.
Harry comes around to stand at one side of the desk, his back to the window . . .
HARRY: I've been off scouting locations. Interviewing actors in New York.
Chili's gaze moves from Ronnie the fool to Bo Catlett the dude, the man composed, elbows on the chair arms, his hands steepled in front of him.
HARRY: The main thing I want to tell you, the start date for Freaks is being pushed back a little, a few months.
Sorry for the slow down here lately. Nothing's wrong, it's just that we've been busy. Les is into the second half of her next-to-last semester in RN school, so she's completely heads down with studying, lectures, tests, clinicals and then working on the weekends. She's put in her paperwork to graduate in December (yay!) I've been busy at work and am also studying in prep for an eight-day, three-test Microsoft certification boot camp in May. We have also been shepherding along our twins through homework every night, both of whom are struggling with school this year (Jon a bit, in a "Jon could do better if he just applied himself" way, Gloria on more of a fully rebellious "I don't have to do this shit and you can't make me" path, which is a challenge). And then there are all of the usual day-in, day-out, week-in, week-out things that have to happen to run a house with six humans in it, with everyone studying for something.
If you're on my blog roll I've been reading all your blogs and commenting here and there, and relying on Ping.fm to update Twitter and Facebook and LinkedIn (and MySpace - does anyone even go there any more? I don't) to show I'm still alive. But mostly it's been heads down, working hard. I hope to have some time to breathe and write more after the boot camp in May. In the mean time, the irregular posts here may be mostly re-posts of things I like from other places. But I haven't given up on blogging, I promise (or "I threaten," depending on your outlook about this blog! :o)
Now, back to studying (I am supposed to be through this 750+ page book with all labs done by May 13 - one month away!)

Yeah, I've been busy too.
But I'm one level beyond you. Not only have I not been blogging, I've barely even been commenting. And now I finally stop and leave a comment to say "Yeah, I've been busy too".
I'm still reading all the blogs in my reader, and I notice this "not blogging much" trend is very widespread. It almost seems like there's nothing new under the sun, or something.
That's OK Jim, we really haven't missed you that much. ;-)
I think it's telling that some of us have time to update half a dozen social networking sites even when we claim to be busy. Myself included. Maybe the winds have shifted a bit? That's what I've been wondering.
CH,
Yeah, there's been a slump in those I read, too.
Erin,
But I am not ready to ascribe it to "the end of blogging as we know it." For one, I don't blog for the same reasons I play on social networks. For two, I use ping.fm to update all my social networks, so I am only sending status messages once, and frankly the only network I comment on others is is FB, and I only do that once or twice a day.
I like to blog because I like to write, and I like to write more than 140 characters at a time. But right now my creativity is being channeled into programming, and usually that means my brain goes into a mode where I have to reload English at the end of the day. I have been in this state so often that I recognize it for what it is and don't panic about it. I will be back to blogging. Just not quite yet.
Thanks for the comment, guys! Good to know someone's still out there. :o)
