Snug as two bugs in a rug
This is the quilt my Mom made and gave to Leslie and me for Christmas. We were actually last in line - she's made quilts for all five grandchildren and four great grandchildren first. That's OK. It was worth the wait. Isn't it pretty?
When I was growing up I had a quilt my Grandma (Mom's mom) had made for me that had all my aunts and uncles and cousins names on it (up to that point in time). I wore it out. It is now very frayed and fragile and in a storage box in the garage. Nothing like sleeping under Grandma love to feel warm and snuggly.
Thanks, Mom!

Yeah... my grandmother made me one when I was a kid and I believe it was something like full-size bed size, but when I was done with it, it only was a few feet long :) well-worn to say the least... I believe they said I looked like the Peanuts character always carrying out his blanket...
that's beautiful!
Luckly I have many quilts from my Great Grandma and Grandma. My family and the wifes family are all quilters so we currently have 7 hand quilted quilts. I know that since my childhood I have gone through about 3. My favorit was a yellow one that had cowboys and horses on it. Now I know how to take care of them so I will hopefully pass them to my kids one day.
That's gorgeous. No one in my extended family quilts...
Chris,
There's just something about a quilt that feels "secure" to a kid (or adult).
Cindy,
Yes, it is!
Patrick,
That's a lot of quilts!
Erin,
Maybe it's time for you to start a trend. :o)
