Guilty (pleasures)

Madonna (especially this).

Crying at the ends of Sense and Sensibility, Dogma, Charlie Brown Christmas and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Peanut butter and dill pickle sandwiches (an aunt gave me one at an impressionable age). Turns out I am not alone.

The Arcata police log (including both books).

My "dog voice" - I talk to dogs in a very childish, high voice with lots of "Aren't choo da good dog, oh, yes choo are!"

The Plug.

Don Julio 1942 (hey, it's always been given to me as a gift - I'd never pay that much myself!)

Alien Loves Predator (now sadly almost defunct).

Westerns.

Amsterdam.

Chile verde.

passiveaggressivenotes.com.

Good books about bad films.

Long, hot showers.

Fresh raspberries.

Public Enemy.

Having an office at work with a door (finally).

Two lane highways with no itinerary (especially "the loneliest road in America").

Two Lane Blacktop.

Blogging.

Most of this I get. None of it seems too strange. I love PassiveAgressiveNotes too. And Madonna. And the "dog voice" (I have one too), and raspberries...

...but Public Enemy? PUBLIC ENEMY? Hahahahaha! I can't hardly believe it.

(I'm just teasing you. I haven't thought of them in a really looong time, but they were "the" thing when I was in high school.)

Oh to have a office with a door :)

Patrick,

You'll get there some day. It only took me, lessee, first programming job in 1986, started at FCS in 2005, so that's what, 19 years? :o)

I always cry at Charlie Brown Christmas too.

Cindy,

I'll have another opportunity to do that in just six weeks or so, when we have our annual tradition.

Funny, our "annual tradition" stars Chevy Chase.

Erin,

Another of our annual traditions is around Thanksgiving time and stars Holly Hunter.

I don't think I've seen that one. Yay, a new holiday movie!

Our Thanksgiving tradition stars John Candy and Steve Martin.

Erin,

I think you will like Home for the Holidays. One of Les and my favorite quotes is from that movie. And come to think of it, I tear up a bit (just a bit) at the end of it, too. If you watch it, let me know what you think of it.

I'll be sure to look for it on TV or rent it this season!
