I hate traveling, redux
Well, I guess I must be psychic, because my last blog post was a predictor of things to come. I am sitting in the Denver airport waiting for a flight on Frontier after walking off my flight from Seattle to find my American flight to St. Louis had been canceled. American doesn't have much of a presence in DIA, so there were no staff in the C concourse to help me. I didn't want to take the train out of security and go deal with the main ticket counter if I didn't have to, so I went into the American Airlines Admiral club and told the lady I wasn't a member, but asked (with a smile :-) if she could direct me to a customer service desk to help me? Instead, she said she could and got me a seat on a Frontier flight leaving only an hour and 10 minutes after my original flight was supposed to go, landing at 11:35 p.m. So I will still hopefully get home early tomorrow morning, weather permitting (it is supposed to snow in STL until about the time I land).
When I went to the Frontier gate to get my boarding pass I didn't have my original boarding pass (the Admiral club lady had kept it), so then they had to call TSA to come and re-screen me at the gate. I guess because I had no proof, via a boarding pass, that I had been screened already. I dealt with that with a smile, too, and both the Frontier rep and the TSA screeners who showed up were quite nice. And now they just announced the flight has been delayed, but only for 14 minutes (hopefully), so I am still smiling. I have to keep the right attitude so I don't end up being one of those screaming businessmen. :-) And of course, I will still have to be careful when I land, because then I have a two hour drive home through the snow. What fun.
Stay tuned.
